  • today is my birthday.


    This entire month i've had an emotional rollercoaster of feelings as i turn 27 years old. I'm slowly creeping up from 20 something to the age of 30. Reflection of my life to this point leads me to believe that i have underachieved to the benchmark standard of a successful life. Life is funny that way i guess. What could be considered the 'wrong' moves in my life has given me experiences that i believe to be valuable lessons. The clock never turns back...just keep moving forward


    This year's celebration was basically a feeble attempt to avoid drinking and to avoid the 'atomic wedgy'


    The Atomic Wedgy (A-W)


    This Cruel and Unusual punishment is an ancient ritual with the Defcon Racing crew that involves a lynch mob of friends grabbing an individual and jerking his underwear until either the underwear is around his head or the underwear completely rips off....yes it hurts...


    With all that explained i've been avoiding the Race crew for the past week...but for some reason i decided to meetup with them saturday nite at a coffee shop...driving there i realized i was wearing pretty good underwear and they might make an attempt at the A-W...For over an hour it was a battle of positioning as i tried to keep my guard and distance away from everyone as people shuffled around the parking lot looking at cars...unfortunately i dropped my guard for a split second and it was all over....i fought it off initially like mr. fantastic grabbing everyone's arms....but a set of arms managed to break free...and it was all downhill from there....my phatfarm underwear was stretch the way no underwear should be....the logo was flapping by my ears...the pain...the pain....the pain was a pain that no man should feel


    I've been trying to remember what i've been doing each birthday as far back as i can remember...most celebrations in recent years involved drinking and the A-W.


    2005 - Medival Times / Night Market (Atomic Wedgy)
    2004 - Tangiers Nite Club (threw up in the washroom)
    2003 - Le Biftheque / Inside Nite Club (threw up on dance floor) (Atomic Wedgy)
    2002 - Tonic Nightclub (threw up in lounge) (Atomic Wedgy)
    2001 - Turbo Nightclub for 10 minutes (threw up in washroom)
    2000 - World Bowl (no puking...completely trashed)
    1999 - WEMF 3 Day Rave in Sauble Beach
    1998 - A Drink at the Bombshelter then finishing a Calculus assignment
    1997 - Strip Club Tour of Brampton
    1996 - Summer School / drinking in a pool hall
    1995 - Wonderland
    1994 - Family celebration Ming with a broken foot
    1993 - Washington Family Trip
    1992 - Swim meet in Montreal
    1991 - ...hmmm...things are getting blurry this point onwards...


    alright...so ming is MORE OLD now...the important thing is...oh man...its started already...

  • Here in Guelph we believe that AWs are a painful but necessary reminder that in life you should look forwards, and not backwards at your deepened asscrack and probably misplaced balls.

  • I believe the image we project for ourselves is always an attainable goal...however, I think there comes a point where our perceptions change/expand.  Suddenly, the ideal isn't idealistic anymore.

    Isn't that what being at crossroads is all about?
