  • There's a fine line in comedy.

    and this is not funny:

Hot 97 a New York Urban radio station played a song on air about the Tsunami Tragedy in Asia. This musical parody hasn't impressed anyone. I can't see this being funny to anyone.

    some lyrics from the song:

..All at once you could hear the screaming chinks and no one was safe from the wave there were africans drowning, little chinamen swept away you could hear god laughing, "swim you bitches swim"

So now you're screwed, it's the Tsunami
you better run or kiss your ass away, go find your mommy
I just saw her float by, a tree went through her head
and now the children will be sold to child slavery...

    seriously. what were they thinking?

  • WTF?  I just went to the Hot97 website and even tho they issued an apology, how is it possible that got on the air?  What possessed somebody to write that?  Weird.....

  • WTF? I went to the Hot 97 site just now and even tho they issued an official apology, I still wonder how that got on the air.  What would possess someone to write something like that?  Weird....

  • Yeah, i don't get it... I tried to find something redeeming in the lyrics above but it's not happening. Is it just racist propaganda (but played on a mostly black demographic radiostation). Was it meant to get publicity, because any publicity is good publicity? Was it meant to enrage listeners so that they would band together and show more support for this cause? These are all pretty weak theories, i guess there are just idiots out there.

  • I'm stupified.
