    English Translation:
eaves like precipice, wind chimes like the vast seas,
i await the return of sparrows.
time has been sheduled, to make a play of coincidence,
    yet you quietly walked away.

a story outside the city walls, thick fog unable to dissipate,
the script unable to be seen clearly.
you can’t listen properly, even though the sound of wind doesn’t exist,
but it is i who mourns in regret and sorrow.

awaken from the dream, who is at the windowsill,
revealing the ending of the story?
the future as thin as the wing of an cicada,
who is to tear it off?

i give you away, thousand miles apart,
you dont make a sound at all.
this silent era, perhaps we should avoid,
    too distant a relationship.
i give you away, to the ends of the earth,
    are you still there?
where is the sounds from a piano from? life and death unable to be conjectured,
i shall use this lifetime to wait for you.

scent, tears, and sound enters the woods,
searching for the white petals of the pear flower,
only to find a row of lichen.
the sky outside the mountains, rain falls on the flower terrace,
    both our hair turns grey.
scent, tears, and sound enters the woods,
searching for the white petals of the pear flower,
only to find a row of lichen.
the sky outside the mountains, rain falls on the flower terrace,
    i’m waiting for you.

a life like precious stone glazed in white,
transparent like dust, your love un-flawed.
you come in the rain, poetry dissolved the sorrow,
    i bathe in the present.

pluck lotus from the water surface,
shadow of the boat is still, but you dont return.
covered completely by this lifetime, the beautiful bloom you spoke of,
and so the past becomes nothing.

Once I found the english translation online I can’t stop myself from appreciating the true beauty of it.

So its been 12 days since I arrived in Beijing. The transition to life
in Beijing from living in Toronto has been far from easy. I had a panic
attack the first weekend walking around the city unfamiliar with my new
environment. Learning the Mandarin language has been a struggle. Its
been very difficult for me to pick up words most of the time since the
locals use slang and speak too fast for my comprehension.

One change that I have noticed is I choose my words very carefully when
speaking English. There are so many different meanings that words can
mean to someone without a great grasp of the language. At times I’ve
needed to rephrase what I say to get the answer I wanted from
coworkers. The correct information is imperative to me especially
    during training.

So I’m in the middle of a special 5 week training program designed for
me to learn everything there is with the hotel. Every day I work a
different job. Each week I work under a different department. Although
I am suppose to be in the marketing department of the hotel once my
training has been complete I think I will have a bigger role in the
hotel. I had to lose the earrings to assimilate into corporate culture.

For those that don’t know I’m working at the Tianlun Dynasty Hotel in
Beijing China. I am living in the hotel and treated like royalty.
workers wait for me to enter rooms and exit elevators. They bow and say
hello everytime I see them. The hotel is really nice. My room has
internet but dai gao has his eyes on things. Apparently there’s been a
few earthquakes in Taiwan and in the ocean that broke a few lines
causing unstable internet access. Its very frustrating at times and
this has been the only time i’ve been able to access my xanga blog.
There’s 60 channels available on my TV:
    - 5 Channels in English
    - 1 Channel in Japanese
    - 54 Channels in Mandarin

The 5 channels I get are CNN, HBO, Cinemax, ESPN Asia, and Discovery
I watch the Discovery channel the most. Alot of the programming isn’t
what you see in North America. There are interesting programs related
    to countries in Asia.

The Music channel occasionally plays some top 40 English songs from time to time.

Due to the unstable internet I haven’t really downloaded any new music
but this has given me an opportunity to finally listen to all the real
hip hop that PHOS gave me over the years. Thanks CHRIS. Crunk and new
Hip Hop has its place but if you actually listen to lyrics nothing can
compare to true lyricists. If you don’t listen to lyrics you are truly
missing out. Of course sometimes you just want a dirty beat to get down
with but what songs will you appreciate 15 years from now?

From what I’ve read online the Beijing hip hop scene is hurting. In
general most clubs are heavy into Drum and Bass, Techno and House.
There are a few one-off underground Hip Hop showcases from time to time.

I ran out of Belmonts last week but i have managed to find a decent
cigarette to replace it. Its 40 RMB a carton or 40 RMB a pack depending
    where you buy it. LOL

My mind is drifting so i think its time for me to sleep.

If you have skype my ID is mingshin1978 we can talk for free.

Thanks again to all my friends for all the well wishes.

    Missing Toronto…but Ballin’ in Beijing

    pe@ce from the far east…

  • Leaving for Beijing Tomorrow

    Hong Kong:
I haven’t really had time to do anything in HK except Eat, Sleep, and Walk.

    Alot of Food…
    All Kinds of Food…

Hong Kong for some reason seems like a fun city.
Very Fast Paced…Very Rich People…Very Nice Cars…Actually all cars are modified in one way or another…BUT
    hk ppl are UGLY.
I’m not sure what happened but i guess because everyone is so busy working or doing something they haven’t taken care of themselves. Not everyone is ugly in the city but i guess the beautiful people i remember aren’t on the streets.

anyways have some family stuff to do…i’ll make a better blog once i get into beijing and settle down.

  • In Korea Waiting for flight to HK.

    Korean stereotypes are everywhere.

there’s a starcraft strategy show in TV in the smoking lounge right now.

I got pretty lucky with the flight to Korea. Had the middle section but 2 seats beside me weren’t booked. Lots of leg room.

My parents managed to get me into the business class lounges at both Toronto and here in Seoul. Business Class is the ISH. FREE everything.

I bought a carton of Belmonts at Pearson for $52.99 CAD

Korean Duty Free – MILD 7s $15 USD for a carton.

My last days in Toronto have been full of alot of self reflection and anxiety. It really hasn’t sunk in yet that I’m gone. Leaving my car and all the parts at the DefconRacing shop was tough. the few hours leading up to the flight i was shaking and light headed. Saying goodbye to margaret was tough. I held back the tears but once i couldn’t see her anymore in the line through the security checkout tears started flowing.

Well its 5:30am here so i’m going to try and get a couple hrs of sleep before the flight to HK.

    Tonic Tonight! $3 Drinks $120 bottles…call 416.899.9181 for guestlist before 8pm.
    Location can’t stop shameless promotions…hehehehe

    out for now…
